Quiz Rules Summary

 Championship Qualifications:  D2 and up levels only; must be at least 10 years old as of Jan.1 of the relevant year.

 Correct Rally footwear must be worn for the Barn Phase – check to see if yours is appropriate BEFORE Quiz.  

       ex. paddock boots,  laced or zipped, 5-hole muckers, rain boots (or tall boots).

 One point penalty = missing PC pin.

 Ten penalty points = late arrival at a phase.

No competitor may watch any of the competition outside of his or her own phases.

 Junior Ds may ask to confer with their teammates, but -- 

Ø      Must ask to confer before starting your answer

Ø      Your credit is reduced by half if you confer.

 In phases with individual answers, three best scores count on a four-man team.

 Barn Phase:

q       Individual answers plus one team question.

q       ASK if you may have a higher-value question in this phase. 

q       Questions may be “hands-on” such as applying a stable bandage or hanging a hay net.

 Stations:

q       Team answers with a time limit.

q       Questions may be written, games, hands-on, etc.

 Mega-Room:

q       Individual answer sheets with a time limit. 

q       Identify items on tables.  Each table is a round.

 Written Test:

q       Individual answer sheets with a time limit. 

q       Tests up to one level above your rating.

q       Very young competitors may have the test read to them.

 Classroom:  

q       Oral questions answered individually.

q       ASK if you may have a higher-value question in this phase.
